i would assume that some or a good number of us here as normal humans in this society - consider " lawless " actions to include murder , robbery, extortion, rape, child abuse, war , terrorism, etc.
the wt society has their own definition of what's considered " lawless ".
anything that's considered a disfellowshipping offense in the jehovah's witnesses is now considered " lawless ".
I think it's time for all of us to realize the wtbs is a powerhouse of cruelty. They will take your family hostage and threaten you. They will try to ruin you and they would kill you if they could. They will continue to do these things as long as people give them the power to do so.
When they try to get "converts" they use certain tactics like the only way you can save your family from armageddon is to become a witness even if your family objects don't go to church with them or celebrate holidays with them this will only encourage them to think your not serious. Now turn the tables if you stay in the org and you don't believe it is truth or you think you can save your family members you are really only encouraging your families hopes that you will return and you are giving them power just by your being there.
It is very painful what they are doing and the longer they continue the more people get hurt and even die. They will one day fall but if everyone who believes it is wrong walks out the door no matter the sacrifice their end will be sooner than later.
Everyone of course must make their own decision but when people in the cong. see you there they feel stronger in their beliefs. The song universal soldier deals with this topic and even the wtbs talks about community responsibility when questioned about all the innocent deaths at armageddon.
I was thinking about henri and the elephant man and I guess we don't really know what goes on inside of a person and even ourselves but however interesting and intelligent we might be it is fun to imagine a different exterior.
Sometimes on tv when I see a young beautiful woman or a large strong male athlete i wonder what would it be like to be physically powerful enough to sprint or pole vault with the best of them we are definately affected by age or our limitations and it's very real. We are also born with the intelligence that comes with the package I wish I was a physicist I love the concepts but those equations they don't work for me.

as most of you know i am trying to releive my wife and family of the burdens of the watchtower, thus staying semi active in the org.
recent happenings in the world have caused the witnesses to tighten the grip on the peoples minds.
First of all let me tell you i'm truly sorry your situation is the way it is and I hope it changes for the good.
We have a different experience we left together no kids no family in the org and it was still difficult and I believe each person has a different capacity to deal with things. It's easy to say "well this is what you ought to do" we're not the same.
Once I realized it was a lie my insides began to scream and i just couldn't listen to them for another minute and my husband knew it was time to go and we walked out and honestly they could have shot at me and I would have kept on going and I did not care what the cost was. That's me and everyone must find their own way.

What i like about Dexter is what I liked about the tv series Forever Knight. I find the internal struggle they both have with what they are interesting. They both work for law enforcement and use their skills to get the bad guy. There is an evil inside of them and it won't go away so they use it in and attempt to direct it in a better direction but sometimes the evil gets out of control but they grab it again.
there are people that are close to them some know who they are some don't they attempt to live as normally as possible but the struggle goes on and the internal conversation is very compelling.
i've been reading this thread for some time and finally had the opportunity to create an account.
i am anxious to meet you all and have a support group/active audience over the next crucial months and years following.
background: long-time doubter, giving way to frustration and skepticism beginning about 10 years ago and finally to total admission that this is a cult and that atheism is the way to go.

I find the whole parent/child relationship is a strange one because each of us were prisoners in our parents world when we were helpless and vulnerable. Sometimes it works out alright but often it does not. we all have our own little genetic ways and for some its easiar to cope than for others and the distance of time can ease the pain and we can have the perspective to understand the mental issues of some parents but sometimes the damage is too severe and its hard to recover.
I did not have a physically abusive situation nor was I raised a jw but my mother is a self-absorbed empty headed physically beautiful woman (in her youth) with four husbands and I was her only child unlike her in most ways our relationship is polite,cordial and empty. we all have our disappointments its too bad we can't all live like the tv program leave it to beaver but that just isn't the way it goes.
